The correct ways to apply a fragrance
How to apply fragrance

Everyone wants to smell good. We all have a favorite scent we dab on each day before we leave the house. For work, for an outing with friends or for a special occasion, we all have a fragrance set aside. A fragrance is a necessary accessory in our wardrobes nowadays. However, what I often come across is that people are still doing it wrong. Most people I know of wear their fragrances on their clothes! Now, if you’re doing something, its best you do it right.

It is important to understand the correct application of a perfume.

A perfume is meant for the skin and not for the clothes. The correct place to apply your perfume is on your pulse points. The reason behind this is that the skin in those areas is very thin and hence the blood is close to the surface. The warmth of the blood makes that area hotter than the other areas of your body. Heat is what activates the perfume. The heat absorbs the perfume faster and thus emits the fragrance for longer hours. One mustn’t rub their wrists after application as that disturbs the molecules of the perfume and could cause a change in the fragrance.

Therefore, the apt places for application of perfume would be your inner wrists, inner elbows, base of your throat, behind the ear lobes, cleavage and neck and even behind your knees(I do it sometimes)! However, if you are allergic to some scents or chemicals, its always advisable to do a patch test on the back of your hand before applying it elsewhere on your body. Stay safe, stay scented.
